Galleywood Parish Council has provided Bleed Control Kits inside all of our defibrillator cabinets around the village to increase village resilience. A ‘Bleed Control kit’ can be used to stem a catastrophic bleed in ANY situation, be that a severe injury at work, a car accident or a car vs pedestrian incident, a heavy fall, or a number of other different situations including knife attacks.

What To Do

In an emergency – Dial 999 The emergency services will provide you with the location of the nearest defibrillator and the access code.  Once you have deployed the unit, take it immediately to the incident and assist those attending by providing it to the person providing CPR.

With a simple two-step process, the fully automatic defibrillator can be used by responders with little or no experience when treating a sudden cardiac arrest victim. A clear display tells the user when the defibrillator is ready for operation and sounds voice prompts to help explain what to do and to keep the user calm under pressure. Once the electrodes have been applied to the patient, the fully automatic defibrillator analyses the patient and, if needed, delivers a shock without the need for manual input.
